Chendamelam
The chenda is mainly played as an accompaniment in the religious art forms of Kerala. The chenda is used as an accompaniment for Kathakali, Koodiyattam, Kannyar Kali and among many forms of dances and rituals in Kerala. It is also played in a dance-drama called Yakshagana which is popular in Karnataka. It is traditionally considered to be an 'Asura Vadyam' which means it cannot go in harmony.
A chenda is made out of a cylindrical wooden drum, and has a length of 2 feet and a diameter of 1 foot. Both ends are covered (usually with cow skin). The chenda is suspended from the drummers neck so that it hangs vertically. Using two sticks, the drummer strikes the upper parchment. This instrument is famous for its loud and rigid sound.

About Kathakali
Kathakali is a highly stylized classical Indian dance-drama noted for its attractive make-up of characters, their elaborate costumes, detailed gestures and well-defined body movements presented in tune with the anchor playback music and complementary percussion. It originated in the country's present day state of Kerala during the 17th century AD and has been updated over the years with improved looks, refined gestures and added themes besides more ornate singing and precise drumming.

Camel Safari In Thar Desert:
Camel safaris are organised with skill and imagination in the vast Thar Desert of Rajasthan. The duration of safari can be from 4 to 15 days, though the minimum time duration doesn't exceed the week limit. The Thar is a world of its own, an unending ocean of sand, dotted with dunes and patchly covered with xerophylic shrubs, with its own distinctive wildlife. While taking up a camel caravan you'll encounter the warmth of hospitable villagers and ruins of historic forts and palaces of Rajasthan. The best camel safaris can be done around Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Bikaner, in the very heart of the Thar. The Bikaner-Jaisalmer safari is about 11 days long, covering 25 to 30-kms a day, along a route known to none but the camel riders. An option to the desert heartland would be the Shekhawati region, taking in such towns as Ramgarh, Nawalgarh, Dundlod, Mandawa and Churu. Short, one or two-day camel safari trips can also be organised and the safari routes can incorporate interesting variations as Jaisalmer to the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat. Special camel safaris are also organised round Pushkar and Nagaur in the winter season of October to March, when these two cities have their popular cattle fairs.

About Rahul Gandhi
Rahul Gandhi was born in New Delhi, the first amongst 2 children of Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India and Italian-born Sonia Gandhi, the current Congress President. His grandmother was Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. His Maternal great-grandfather, Jawaharlal Nehru, was the first Prime Minister of India, and his maternal great-great-grandfather Motilal Nehru was a distinguished leader of the Indian independence movement.
In 2003, there was widespread media speculation about Rahul Gandhi's imminent entry into national politics, which he did not confirm. He appeared with his mother at public events and Congress meetings. He also traveled to Pakistan on a goodwill visit to watch the first cricket series between the countries in 14 years in a One Day International with his sister Priyanka Gandhi. In March 2004, he announced his entry into politics by announcing that he would contest the May 2004 elections, standing for his father's former constituency of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha, India's lower house of Parliament.
In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, he retained his Amethi constutuency by defeating his nearest rival by a margin of over 333,000 votes. In these elections congress is said to have revived itself in Uttar Pradesh by winning 21 out of the total 80 Lok Sabha seats and the majority of the credit for this turnaround is given to Rahul Gandhi. He spoke at 125 rallies across the country in six weeks.
Rahul Gandhi had advised austerity for all the Congress members and claims to wear simple clothes and not waste money.

About APJ Kalam
Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam born October 15, 1931, Tamil Nadu, India, usually referred to as Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam^, was the eleventh President of India, serving from 2002 to 2007. During his term as President, he was popularly known as the People's President.
Before his term as India's president, he worked as an aeronautical engineer with DRDO and ISRO. He is popularly known as the Missile Man of India for his work on development of ballistic missile and space rocket technology. In India he is highly respected as a scientist and as an engineer.
APJ Abdul Kalam strongly advocates an action plan to develop India into a knowledge superpower and into a developed nation by the year 2020 in his book India 2020.
Kalam's belief in the power of science to resolve society's problems and his views of these problems as a result of inefficient distribution of resources is modernistic. He also sees science and technology as ideology-free areas and emphasises the cultivation of scientific temper and entrepreneurial drive. In this, he finds a lot of support among India's new business leaders like the founders of Infosys and Wipro, (leading Indian IT corporations) who began their careers as technology professionals much in the same way Kalam did. i am a big fan of sh.APJ Abdul Kalam. That is the motivation to make this portrait.
